Health Services
ECLA provides emergency health insurance for non-German students, which goes into effect upon arrival. It is important to note that this insurance only covers medical emergencies, not preventive care. Medical expenses such as eyeglasses, dental work and the treatment of pre-existing conditions are not covered. ECLA recommends that all students retain general health insurance from their home countries.
Counselling Services
ECLA offers its students the services of a professional counselor. ECLA being a residential college, students have less contact with their regular support systems of their family and friends. The counselling service aims to provide students with the opportunity to talk freely about personal difficulties to a professional with an external perspective. Personal difficulties of an emotional nature, stress problems related to life at ECLA and similar issues can all be discussed with the counsellor.
All aspects of the meeting with the counsellor are strictly confidential.
